Advancing Discovery

Research conducted by the Department has led to a number of developments that translate to more effective treatments for patients, including the development of short-course brachytherapy for breast cancer, intensity-modulated radiotherapy, radiosurgery, and computer-based techniques to precisely calculate radiation doses.

The Legorreta Cancer Center unites expertise from across traditional boundaries to develop new knowledge that will translate into improved diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer.

The Lifespan Cancer Institute is an active clinical trials site, and together with the Brown University Research Group, faculty provide innovative approaches to cancer care.
